With great pride, I had the pleasantry to sit oceanside in Corolla, N.C. and watch the riptides run up and down the shoreline. All the while, engaged in convo with my wifey's cousin, a Lt. Col. in the USAF. We talked of the wild blue yonder up above the N.C. coast of the Outer Banks where the dogfights are practiced with precision in the F-15's. A sign of fire power, a sign of passion and pride and feats of technology. We kicked our feet into the sand and knocked back beverages and contemplated the phenom of freedom and mid-air refueling. Then, some years later, I encountered the high test deliverance on my own homefront's airspace. Oh, (casual tone) that's just a camoflouged, anti-gravity, telescopic refueling boom (a.k.a. "Chopstick"). The KC-46 Pegasus is in stealth mode, out of sight. The event made me dig into the archives of my Colecovision games and roust out Looping. A throwback to air superiority of the early days of flight. I went and found my faux flight gloves for the photo op. Oh, (casual tone) the gloves are cashmere lined Polo Ralph Lauren.
