Turkey Lurky

Thanksgiving 2020 was darn near perfect. We tipped the Covid to "stand back, stand down" for the holiday and the warmth of the Mid Atlantic made like an early day in April. Except, the daffodils were down and the stuffing and gravy were blooming instead. Cold beers flowed across the kitchen counter and out onto the portico, the condensation on the frosted cups was a taste for sore senses. Senses beleaguered by the Coronavirus threat. Nevermore, the social distancing was distinct, PPE's were prevalent, we made success with my parents and paraded a new Turkey Day tradition, perhaps. I loved all the flavors, they were to be savored. Love in the air, the truth in the oven. The bird being basted, the gravy boats dropping anchor. The mounds of mashed potatoes brought our blessings to the forefront. Thank goodness for this food and beautiful hands that culled these culinary delights!
