While I was lounging along the surf of Little Pine Creek, taking my beer for a walk and working on my photography, I caught a glimpse of this Little Pine Pioneer. Emerging from the trout laced lagoon, he found a niche along the creek bank and cached his finds and knowledge of where the trouts are being the most trouty. He is geared up and out bound, downstream he goes, never intended to look over his shoulder. Onward Ho! I don't know if he entered the Little Pine from Otter Run, or if he floated down from the headwaters up north. Either way, the mission has the same finish line. He is competing against the man in the mirror, his toughest opponent and toughest critic. Holding his own bar and setting it for fortitude, perseverance, faith, hope, self confidence. Go on, man!
Mettle: ability to cope well with difficulties or to face a demanding situation in a spirited and resilient way.
