Armed with a pen, I pen this...Decked out in Walmart pants and a Rip N' Dip shirt, I post up at the X-Roads of 666 and 727. The log rigs are rolling diesel fumes and blowing dust and wood chips. Sticks headed to the stickyards. I stole a pic, while the 18 wheelers were down the road. These country roads glow with the flow. The rural streams and highway paths get into me. Charlotte County, VA, where Vincent Store Rd. meets Red House Rd. and the pines scent the air as best they can before they get their clear cuts as the soil shines a rich red. All this decadence while the saw mill is ceaseless, I feel dressed for success as I nod my head away from the ominous 666. These backroads are not history swept up in dust, they are integrity fortifying. Business is in the movement. Trucks on trucks hauling timbers.
